Case Study: Building a Social Media Presence That Resonates — And Works

Client:

An education provider for people with disabilities, focused on empowerment through inclusive and accessible learning.

Example simple video with some of the messaging I used.

The Challenge:

After three years on social media, the client had only 36 followers across their platforms. Their message was important—but it wasn’t landing. Their visuals were inconsistent, their voice was unclear, and their audience wasn’t connecting.

The Goal:

Clarify the brand’s message and increase meaningful engagement on social media.

What I Did:

1. Clarified the Brand Identity

While it might sound basic, consistency in branding is often overlooked—and in this case, it made all the difference. I began by refining key elements across their social media profiles:

  • Header images that visually communicated the mission.
  • Avatars that were recognizable and professional.
  • A short but powerful “About” blurb that quickly explained who they were and why they mattered.

These changes gave followers an immediate understanding of what the organization stood for—and why they should care.

2. Designed with Purpose

Next, I built a series of custom graphics that aligned visually and emotionally with their mission:

  • Famous quotes from leaders in education, accessibility, and disability rights.
  • Authentic, representative imagery that honored the lived experiences of their audience.
  • A consistent visual style that made every post instantly recognizable.

Each piece of content served to inform, inspire, and affirm.

3. Created a Strategy, Not Just Posts

This wasn’t just about posting more—it was about posting smarter. I helped the client shape a narrative that uplifted their community while aligning with their educational goals. We posted regularly, tracked performance, and stayed adaptable.

The Results (AKA The Mic Drop Moment):

In just 2 months, their following grew from 36 to over 1,500. That’s a 4,000% increase.

But beyond the numbers, the real win?
People began engaging. Liking. Commenting. Sharing. Saying things like, “I’ve been waiting for an organization like this to show up in my feed.”

Client Feedback:

“We finally feel like our social media reflects who we are. We’re reaching people—and they’re responding. We’re thrilled.”

Takeaway:

Great design and strategy don’t just make things “look nice.” They make people feel seen, understood, and connected. That’s when the magic happens.
